Winter in Cyprus in general is very mild, it is a record high for Cyprus that out of 365 days a year, at least 300 will be sunny. In the last 2 years Cyprus has received some rainy weather. Statistics suggest that when for 2-3 years there has been rain, some 2-5 yrs of dry weather will follow with milder (sunny) winters and dry Summers with milder termperatures.
 
 
 
 
 

Weather in Cyprus has the following characteristics, July and August are the hottest months, occasionally July can be hotter than August and during those two months it is usually very warm.

April, May, June, September and October the weather is warm but the sun is more linear to say "comfortably warm". November is still as warm as October; up to November 15th is usually considered as a summer month.

In December and January, in the day time, it is most likely to be bright and either sunny or cloudy with sunny spells. There is always the case where Christmas is sunny and warm just like November and occasionally this happens but as a general rule from December to mid-February one should expect a combination of all weather types.

One frequent phenomenon is that one of the months of February or March the weather is cold for a period of 14 days but during Mid February towards the first week of March for about 14 days it is very warm.

We would also like to advice you on health issues in the Sun. Late figures suggest that due to Ozone lack over exposure to the Sun could be hazardous therefore always at all times do take health precautions and do not lay in the sun for a long period of time.

Obtain suntan gradually rather than immediately as of the fact that sunburn might be only the begining of health hazards.

Always and at all times use sun cream.
