Whichever resort you decide on for your summer holidays to Cyprus, we're sure you won't be disappointed. Thers is plenty to see and do all over this amazing island, here are some of our recommended 'must see's':
Paphos
One of the most visited sites in Paphos are the ancient Tombs of the Kings dating back to the 4th Century bc. These tombs are carved out of the rocks and are the burial places of many high ranking officers of the period.
Protaras
The tiny hilltop Church of Ayios Elias sits quietly 100 metres up on the hill on the main road out of Protaras. Although there is quite a climb to reach the top, the panoramic views from the church are well worth the climb.
Ayia Napa
Sitting right in the centre of Ayia Napa Square, is the tranquil 16th century monastery which is guarded by a 600 year old fig tree right outside the entrance. A lovely, peaceful place to escape from the sun and enjoy the quiet.
Limassol
Kourion is what remains of the ancient City. This area has been inhabited since the Neolithic times. Evidence shows that the Mycenaeans began inhabiting the city in the 14th Century BC.
Larnaca
According to legend Umm Haram, the foster mother of the Prophet Mohammed is buried here at the Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque. She broke her neck falling from a mule while traveling to Cyprus with her husband, during an Arab raid in 647 AD. A dome constructed at 1760 now encloses the Sanctuary of Umm Haram.
