Beachfront Protaras hotels offer bags of water sports and beach activities to keep kids and families happy, and are ideally located to discover some of the fantastic landscapes of the island. The most popular beaches in the area are Fig Tree Bay, Konnos Beach and Sandy Bay.
Protaras is a good base from which to explore the rugged Cape Greco area and the sea caves, an area of natural beauty which is particulalry popular with walkersand cyclists; also worth a visit is neighbouring Ayia Napa and especially the central monastery.
It was on the Paphos shore, that the Goddess Aphrodite was born and anyone taking holidays in Cyprus should visit the site known as "Petra tou Romiou” and also Kouklia, where you will find the remains of her earliest Sanctuary.
