Paphos seems be slightly cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, than the rest of the resorts and the surrounding landscapes are some of the most striking on the island. The Paphos hotels are mainly centred around the harbour and fort area.

The history of Paphos can be traced back to the 4th century B.C. and you will come across numerous interesting archaeological sites in the area, close to many of the Paphos hotels and apartments.

Many of the historical sights are close to the resort centre and within walking distance of most hotels. Must sees during your trip should be St Pauls Pillar, the Paphos Odeon, Aphrodites Birthplace and Sanctuary and of course, the legendary Tombs of the Kings.

Beach and water activities such paragliding, jet skiing, diving and water skiing are always offered by the main Paphos Hotels with private beaches and also on some of the municipal beaches.

Paphos is divided into two: Pano and Kato Paphos. Pano Paphos hosts the old town with shops on narrow roads and the fish and vegetable market. Kato Paphos hosts the newly developed area of Paphos with hotels, bars and restaurants, and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage City.

Polis, which is forty minutes up the coast, is a fertile area and is the most behind when it comes to development, adding to its appeal.

Paphos hotels in this area enjoy a fantastic location and a more traditional feel than in the other resorts.

If you choose to stay in Paphos hotels in Polis, make sure to go to neighbouring Latchi, a pretty fishing harbour, where a fish meze is a must.
