If you plan to spend some time travelling around the island during family holidays to Cyprus, and want to be close to the most famous sights, Paphos, on the west coast could be the answer. Paphos is home to many of the most important archaeological sites on the island including the Tombs of the Kings, The Paphos Odeon, the world famous Mosaics, Aphrodites Birthplace and of course, St Pauls Pillar.
With all the famous history to explore, a bird and animal park and a water park, the Paphos area really does have something for all ages.
We recommend car hire for family holidays to Cyprus, if you intend to visit some of the more remote areas, such as Akamas and Troodos. You will need to hire a 4x4 vehicle in order to see these spectacular areas as a lot of the driving is on loose surface roads.
At the other end of the island you can find some of the most beautiful beaches in Cyprus. Fig Tree Bay and Nissi Bay are probably the two most famous, Fig Tree Bay being in Protaras and Nissi Bay in Ayia Napa.
Both beaches are perfect for families with safe and shallow water and enough golden sand for any number of sandcastles!
