With so many stories to tell, Cyprus cheap deals are a great way to explore the legends and see the places we have all heard about - see the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite and visit the place she called home.
Legend says that Aphrodite the Goddess of Love was born in Paphos, emerging from the surf of the sea from behind the rock that is today known as 'Petra tou Romiou'. Her birthplace is one of the most visited and photographed sites in Cyprus, and is a pretty area that deserves to be seen.
Paphos is also home to another world famous historical site - The Tombs of the Kings. Located a few minutes drive from Paphos Harbour these Tombs date back to the 4th century and are said to be the final resting place of high ranking officers rather than actual kings. Regardless of who is actually buried here, the tombs are an impressive sight having been hand carved out of the rock and being amazingly well preserved.
King Richard the Lionheart also visted the Island and married in the Limassol Castle in 1191. Sadly the chapel is no more, as the Great Hall of the castle, collapsed during 1525.
