Troodos
Mountains are the highest point of Cyprus. Truth is that in winter and spring,
one can actually visit Troodos to Ski and 2 hours later could be lying
in the sun on the beach. No wonder it is known as Small-Switzerland!
This excursion is highly recommended for all guests arriving in Cyprus
wanting to admire the traditional village life and also the beauty of Cyprus.
Unlike the Safari, which follows all the off-road routes and visits more
of the traditional Cyprus, this bus-tour follows the best roads
up towards Kykko Monastery.
First stop towards the Troodos Mountains is Platres, a village traditional
for short-break holidays with it's picturesque tavernas and nice square.
Up towards Troodos, we will stop at the highest point, Olympus
Mountain, which is 1912 meters above sea level. Next will be the Tomb of
Makarios III, the ex-president of Cyprus who played a vital role in the history
of the island, also the "Golden Monastery", Kykko Monastery
which has this name because of the gold in the church and the surrounding
culture.
A visit to the museum will impress the visitor with Hand-Made Miniatures,
and ancient remnants which will definitely make your experience unforgettable.
Lunch will take place in Pedhoulas another picturesque village, before heading downhill
towards Paphos, after a short coffee break in Trimklini Village.
