Beach & Sea Safety Guidelines
Always choose a “Blue Flag” beach for swimming.
A blue flag means the beach is an approved area
and that there is also lifeguard on duty.
Avoid entering a beach that has breaking waves,
but this should not be your sole criteria - a beach without
breaking waves does not necessarily imply a safe beach,
as dangerous undercurrents may be present.
Avoid going into the sea alone.
Avoid swimming or diving near to rocky shallow spots.
Avoid the consumption of alcohol before swimming
and avoid swimming after eating.
Do not swim after sunset.
Always look to see if there is a warning sign or red-flag
which implies a dangerous beach.
Do not approach areas that are marked areas,
by buoys,
for boats, jet skis etc |
